Marjorie Eileen McGaha was born on March 30, 1941, to Arthur and Frances "Anna" (Bonwell) Waddell in Okanogan, WA. She attended school in Malott, WA and graduated from Okanogan High School in 1959. As a child, she was very involved with 4-H, entering baking and cooking contests, and helping the family around the farm.

Kathryn E. "Betty" Hurlbert, 90, of Spokane, WA, was called to her heavenly home on February 3, 2012, in Spokane, WA. She was born in Sitka, AK on November 14, 1921, to Albert and Kathryn Harding. Their family lived in several places on the West coast throughout the years of the Great Depression. They finally settled in Omak in 1945.
